Clinical Supervision

While the literature on social work supervision outlines four main areas of focus in supervision (direct practice, professional impact, continued learning and job management), the current reality is often that only the “job management” aspect remains within a social worker’s organization/agency. Thus, many new and practicing social workers in the field may feel that they are on their own when it comes to clinical supervision or supervision of direct practice. Social workers and psychotherapists may need to seek outside supervision or consultation on their own initiative, perhaps with an outside supervisor. Supervision is a vital part of individual “performance management”.

In my clinical supervision practice, I provide an accountable, two-way process, which supports, motivates and enables the development of good practice for individual social workers. As a result, this improves the quality of service provided by you.
